The City of Clarence is calling for community feedback on the draft Little Howrah Beach Master Plan.
The master plan sets out a vision for the Little Howrah Beach area and will aim to transform Little Howrah Beach from its current state into a vibrant beachfront precinct that supports a variety of activities and recreation. The plan includes an upgrade to facilities, activated community spaces and improved accessibility.
Ultimately, the master plan will further establish this much-loved area as an integral part of Clarence's recreation network, creating new benefits and opportunities for the community to enjoy.
Council recognises the enormous value placed on Little Howrah Beach by both the local Howrah and Tranmere communities, people from across Greater Hobart and various special interest groups, such as kayakers and swimmers.
Before we put pen-to paper on the draft master plan, we heard directly from the people who use Little Howrah Beach to better understand the issues, opportunities and ideas that will shape the master plan.
Our initial community consultation closed on 8 March 2023 and we received 258 survey responses as well as many individual conversations, the summary report of the survey results can be found here.
Our project team reviewed the feedback and began preparing preliminary concept designs for further discussion with the community.
If you have any questions or comments, you are welcome to contact Bryn Hannan, Council's Project Lead.
