Natural Areas Strategy Consultation

CONSULTATION NOW CLOSED

All survey results, map pins and individual submissions will be reviewed to help finalise the Strategy. Thank you to everyone who participated.

Background

With an abundance of natural features including over 190 kilometres of coastline, an extensive network of bushland reserves, rivulets and internationally recognised wetlands, the city of Clarence plays a vital role in supporting the regions unique and important ecosystems, native plants and native wildlife, and provides numerous opportunities for the community to connect with nature, providing immeasurable health and wellbeing benefits.

The draft Natural Area Strategy outlines council’s approach to protecting and enhancing our precious natural environment across all land tenures in the city of Clarence. The strategy provides clear and measurable objectives to guide investment, advocacy positions and on-ground actions.

We now want to hear from our community on aspects of the strategy we could improve or actions we could include to ensure the best possible outcomes for our natural areas and maximise the benefits they provide.

How to have your say

We will have multiple ways for you to share your feedback. The survey and any other feedback can be provided online, email or post, over the phone or in person. The consultation is open for four weeks from 9 August to 6 September 2024.
